廣東省人大常委會副主任、前廣州市委書記張碩輔涉嫌嚴重違紀違法，目前正接受調查1。張碩輔於中國「十一」國慶前夕被帶走，延至國慶後對外通報1，其缺席了廣東省人大常委會9月29日的會議1。
張碩輔此次落馬被指涉及「重大事項未請示報告」等問題1。這並非他首次因工作失誤遭受問責——2021年12月，他與廣州市長溫國輝同時被免職，原因是廣州大規模砍伐了3000多株老榕樹，並大規模種植鳳凰木1。據悉，過去十多年廣州有4名市委書記落馬或非正常死亡，分別為萬慶良、任學鋒、張碩輔及郭永航1。

This dismissal reflects ongoing leadership turmoil in Guangzhou. Over the past decade-plus, four municipal party secretaries have either fallen from power or met with abnormal deaths: Wan Qingliang, Ren Xuefeng, Zhang Shofuzhao, and Guo Yonghang 1.
