Kimberly Guilfoyle requested a Trump donor transfer $100,000 to her American Express account in exchange for access to Trump administration officials, according to text messages reported by the Wall Street Journal.1 The donor, identified as Eric Detzler, stated he never made the payment and shared his communications with Guilfoyle with media outlets.2 Guilfoyle's lawyer responded by characterizing the debt as an outstanding balance related to travel and speaking event expenses.2
The revelations have prompted Democratic lawmakers to demand scrutiny of Guilfoyle's conduct.
