Yemeni government forces claimed to have seized a strategic location near Mansoura Mountain in the Waziah district of Taiz Province on October 6th.1 However, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree countered that his forces successfully repelled the government assault, destroying multiple vehicles and armored personnel carriers with dozens of casualties inflicted on the opposing side.1
The ongoing military confrontation has escalated into wider regional strikes. The Saudi-led coalition conducted 66 airstrikes and missile attacks against Yemen over a 24-hour period.1 In response to Houthi aerial strikes, coalition forces intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile fired by Houthi militants toward Heimis Mushayt.1 The Houthi militants also launched a missile attack on Aden International Airport in Yemen early on October 7th, triggering two explosions at the facility.1
