Greenvolt Power has launched construction of a 600 MW/2.4 GWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Siedlce, Poland, with commercial operations expected to commence by the end of 2027 1. The facility will be equipped with battery technology supplied by BYD Energy Storage and will comprise 210 battery containers and 105 transformer containers connected at a 400 kV voltage level 1. The project is designed to support renewable energy integration and grid load balancing through charging and discharging cycles 1.
This Siedlce facility represents a major expansion of Greenvolt's storage portfolio in Poland 1. The company is simultaneously developing two other projects: the Turośń Kościelna facility, a 200 MW/800 MWh system scheduled to begin operations in July 2026, and the Ełk facility, another 200 MW/800 MWh system expected to commence operations in the fourth quarter of 2026 1. Once all three projects become operational, Greenvolt's total battery storage capacity in Poland will reach 1 GW/4 GWh 1.
