The issue has gained attention from manufacturers themselves.1 Chinese electric vehicle maker XPeng has publicly acknowledged a link between electric vehicles and motion sickness.1 However, Vicky Edmonds, CEO of the UK Electric Vehicle Association, stated that this problem has never been reported among the organization's members.1 UK government data shows that zero-emission vehicle registrations grew 40.5 percent year-on-year between April and June 2026, with such vehicles accounting for 5.8 percent of all licensed vehicles in Britain as of June 2026.1

Experts recommend several preventive measures to mitigate motion sickness in electric vehicles, including looking out the front window, sitting in the front seat, keeping the head still, opening windows, and taking motion sickness medication.1
