Russia has bombed the North Bridge in Kyiv, damaging the road surface and trolleybus overhead lines, according to the city's mayor.1 This strike marks a significant escalation in Moscow's targeting of Ukraine's capital, as the North Bridge and the South Bridge had never been hit before this week.1

Mayor Vitali Klitschenko announced the attack on Telegram, stating "Hit the North Bridge. Emergency services are heading there."1 He further reported that "bridge traffic from the left bank to the right bank is currently blocked."1 The North Bridge strike follows multiple attacks on the South Bridge since Thursday, prompting Kyiv's Defense Council to convene an emergency meeting on Friday.1 Klitschenko warned that Russian bombardment is tearing Kyiv apart and targeting "critical infrastructure, logistics, housing," and other essential facilities.1 Moscow has claimed its strikes are in response to Ukrainian attacks on Russian energy infrastructure.1
