7月24日，渝厦高铁重庆菜园坝长江铁路隧道顺利贯通1，这是中国首条穿越长江并实现贯通的高铁隧道1。隧道全长11942米1，其中盾构段长度3845米，含穿江段1282米1。该工程采用了明挖法、矿山法、盾构法相结合的施工方案1，成功克服了复杂地质环境、城区环境以及长江主航道穿越等多重难题1，是渝厦高铁全线的重点控制性工程1。
本次施工所采用的盾构机开挖直径为12.66米，机身总长142米，总重3500吨1，配备239把刀具1。菜园坝长江铁路隧道位于菜园坝火车站下方，后者建成于1952年1，自2022年起停止客运1。
The Caiyuanba Yangtze River Railway Tunnel on the Yu-Xia High-Speed Railway achieved breakthrough on July 24, marking a major construction milestone for the project 1. The specialized shield boring machine used for this work measures 12.66 meters in excavation diameter, stretches 142 meters in total length, weighs 3,500 tons, and operates with a cutting tool array of 239 implements 1. The project had to navigate the urban environment while managing operations at the historic Caiyuanba Railway Station, which opened in 1952 and ceased passenger service from 2022 1.
