Screenwriter Lang Qunli recently discussed the film's creative development, revealing that the production underwent two major rounds of food testing to perfect its culinary elements—one in Beijing with multiple master chefs and another in Qingdao.1 He noted that the movie's food offerings proved commercially successful, with multiple Beijing restaurants adding dishes from the film to their menus, resulting in significantly increased orders for those items following the theatrical release.1 Lang, who made his debut as second assistant director on this project, participated throughout the entire production process including table reads, location scouting, casting, actor rehearsals, and on-set filming.1 He emphasized the intensive rehearsal schedule, stating that over one hundred scenes were worked through more than a dozen times, with major sequences rehearsed dozens of times.1
