Wuhao Village, located in Yongkang City, Jinhua, Zhejiang Province, is an eight-hundred-year-old settlement with roots tracing back to the Southern Song Dynasty's Jiading period.1 The village has preserved over one hundred traditional structures spanning the Ming, Qing, and Republican eras, including ancestral halls, reception halls, and ancient residences.1 Rather than allowing these heritage buildings to fall into disrepair, the community has adopted a distinctive revitalization strategy known as "one house, one character; one room, one business model," systematically converting vacant historic dwellings into contemporary cultural and commercial spaces while maintaining their original architectural essence.1
The transformation has yielded diverse new ventures throughout the village. The Guihua House, a traditional residence, now functions as a painting and calligraphy studio that draws art enthusiasts and serves as a venue for creative work and cultural study programs.1 Additional renovated properties now house a gemstone and ornamental stone gallery, specialty tea rooms, baking experience centers, and coffee shops, creating a vibrant mixture of leisure and cultural activities.1 Village resident Wang Zhenzheng established a coffee shop within a historic building, creating a social gathering space for young people.1 These initiatives have succeeded in attracting young entrepreneurs to return to rural life, simultaneously preserving local cultural heritage while breathing fresh economic vitality and everyday liveliness into the ancient community.1
