The White House unilaterally removed CNN from its television press pool on two separate occasions within days, despite a local judge's recent decision to overturn the ban.1 CNN was first excluded from pool duties aboard Air Force One on Saturday, followed by a second removal from pool duties on Wednesday.1

The removals came just two days after a district judge reversed the White House's prohibition on CNN and other media outlets.1 The White House had initially imposed the ban on CNN on September 18.1 White House officials characterized the television network as "performative and dishonest."1 CNN subsequently filed a lawsuit against the White House on September 21.1

Lawyers representing CNN, MSNBC, and Politico have requested that the judge extend the duration of the ban's reversal by 14 days pending further hearings.1
