该船型由中国自主研发设计，是全球首型适配粮食专业化运输的多用途船1。"国强海"轮配备了智能航行和货物监控等系统1，并获得中国船级社碳足迹附加标志，实现了国内新造船舶碳足迹检验领域的"零的突破"1。前8艘船舶已投入全球核心粮食运输航线1，其中9月18日第八艘"国富海"轮首航靠泊南京港1，9月23日"国仁海"轮完成首载巴西大豆回国航次1。
