General Secretary Xi Jinping declared that China's economy is "advancing under pressure while moving toward innovation and upgrading," demonstrating resilience and vitality, at a reception held to commemorate the 77th anniversary of the Communist Party of China's founding.1 The event took place at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing and was attended by approximately 800 Chinese and foreign guests, with Premier Li Qiang presiding over the gathering.1
Xi emphasized the need to "maintain the general tone of seeking progress while ensuring stability" and to "comprehensively and accurately implement the new development philosophy."1 He called for advancing the 15th Five-Year Plan and deepening reform and opening-up.1 On the Taiwan issue, Xi stated that efforts should focus on "deepening cross-strait exchanges and cooperation, resolutely combating pro-independence separatist forces, and opposing external interference."1 Regarding Hong Kong and Macau, he reiterated the commitment to "unwaveringly implement the 'one country, two systems' principle, 'Hong Kong people governing Hong Kong,' 'Macau people governing Macau,' and maintaining a high degree of autonomy."1
