Cerebras, co-founded by Feldman in 2015 to pioneer wafer-scale computing technology, has positioned itself as a challenger to conventional AI chip architecture 1. The company completed a $5.5 billion initial public offering in May 1 and has secured a multi-year agreement with OpenAI to deploy 750 megawatts of Cerebras systems between 2026 and 2028 1. In August, Cerebras unveiled its latest-generation CS-4 wafer-scale AI infrastructure 1.
The company is rapidly expanding its operational footprint. It currently has over 600 megawatts of data center capacity online or under contract 1, with plans to increase manufacturing capacity more than tenfold in 2026 1. Internationally, Cerebras opened its first European data center this year and plans to expand that facility to 200 megawatts by the end of 2027 1.
