The Chinese Academy of Sciences Shenzhen Advanced Technology Research Institute (SARI) held an innovation development symposium, bringing together over 300 participants including academicians, experts, and industry representatives.1 The event marked a significant milestone as the institute formally released two international English-language journals: X-Biomedical Engineering and Vita Synthesis.1
Director Liu Chenli presented the institute's two-decade trajectory from its founding to becoming a national strategic scientific and technological force, highlighting transformative growth across talent recruitment, research funding, and scholarly output in papers and patents.1 White Chunlei, honorary chairman of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Academic Divisions, delivered remarks urging SARI to align with the nation's "15th Five-Year Plan" blueprint.1 Patrick Cramer, president of Germany's Max Planck Society, participated via video message, emphasizing collaborative efforts through the Max Planck-Chinese Academy of Sciences Joint Research Center for Synthetic Biochemistry.1
The institute strengthened its regional presence by signing strategic cooperation agreements with Nanshan District, Guangming District, Futian District, the Shenzhen portion of the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone, and the Hengqin Guangdong-Macau In-depth Cooperation Zone.1 Additionally, the SARI Alumni Association was officially unveiled during the event.1 United Imaging Group achieved a "zero-to-one" breakthrough with SARI in the high-field magnetic resonance imaging sector.1
