A third suspect, 45-year-old Eric Clark, turned himself in on Friday and was charged with murder in connection with the death of Tasia Fortune in Jackson, Mississippi.1 According to autopsy findings, Fortune's hanging was staged, and her body was actually killed elsewhere before being placed in the tree where it was discovered.1 The case originated from a drug dispute, according to police investigation.2
Fortune, a 29-year-old mother of four, was found on August 3 hanging from a tree in the 500 block of Memorial Drive West in Jackson.1 Detective Samuel Dukes stated that Fortune had been dead for two to three days before her body was discovered.1 The medical examiner concluded that "the scene and the hanging were both fabricated."1 Police alleged that Ernest Lloyd II used black electrical cable to stage the hanging.1
