Honor's chief imaging engineer Luo Wei shared mid-autumn moon photos captured with the Magic9 Pro Max using a 500mm telephoto lens on September 26, accompanied by a competitive challenge stating "who else can do this."1 The 500mm telephoto attachment, dubbed the "Honor Mega Cannon," is claimed to be the longest focal length solution currently available for smartphone external telephoto lenses.1
The Magic9 Pro Max will be powered by the sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Super Elite Edition processor.1 The imaging system was jointly developed by Honor and German company ARRI, incorporating ARRI color science and cinema workflows.1 In addition to the 500mm option, Honor will debut a 200mm telephoto lens called the "Honor Thumb" telephoto at the Magic9 series launch.1 The Magic9 standard edition will feature the fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Edition processor.1
The 16GB+512GB model of the Magic9 Pro Max is priced at 6,499 yuan as the industry base price, with promotional pricing at 5,999 yuan and 5,499 yuan with government subsidies applied.1 Honor's Magic9 series launch event is scheduled for September 28, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. in Beijing.1
