The woman initially alleged she was 13 years old when the assault occurred.12 However, she withdrew the lawsuit in February 2025 after acknowledging her claims lacked factual basis.1 According to her account, she saw Facebook advertisements concerning allegations against Combs, which she said triggered false recollections of childhood sexual assault.1 The accuser indicated that her former legal representatives filed the suit without conducting an independent investigation or obtaining corroborating evidence.1
Jay-Z's legal team characterized the original allegations as an attempted extortion scheme, describing them as "reckless, fabricated and outrageous."1 The rapper rejected any settlement offer.2 Jay-Z continues legal action against his former attorney, Tony Buzbee, whose firm initiated the case.12
Meanwhile, Combs was convicted in July 2025 on two counts of sex trafficking and was sentenced to four years and two months in prison.2
