Volkswagen and its subsidiary Audi have been ordered to recall nearly 1 million vehicles in Germany due to corroded steering system bolts that could damage or completely disable the steering gear.1 Volkswagen is recalling approximately 900,000 vehicles in Germany as part of a global recall of 2.16 million units, while Audi is recalling 58,555 vehicles in Germany from its global recall of 700,000 vehicles.1
