The second edition of the "Unity and Future" Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Bay Area Youth Drama Exchange and Performance Festival has launched in Shenzhen, bringing together students from three prestigious institutions to perform the classic work The Chronicle of Drama.1 The Central Academy of Drama, Shenzhen Senior High School (Group), and the Macau Education and Youth Development Bureau Performing Arts Center participated in consecutive performances at the Shenzhen Youth Palace Theater.1
The production combined Mandarin and Cantonese in its bilingual presentation of the historical play.1 The Chronicle of Drama was jointly created by Xia Yan, Song Zhidi, and Yu Ling in 1943.1 The narrative begins with the May Fourth Movement and extends through the period preceding the August Thirteenth Shanghai Battle.1 The work originally premiered in May 1944 as the closing production of the Southwest Drama Festival.1
The initiative was guided by the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Education and the Communist Youth League Shenzhen Municipal Committee, with Shenzhen Senior High School (Group) serving as the organizing body.1 The exchange merged arts education with civic values, enabling young performers from the three regions to use drama as a medium to carry forward artistic heritage and a sense of national responsibility.1
