Illinois Democratic Representative Delia Ramirez has announced plans to introduce legislation that would terminate the surveillance tower program along the U.S. southern border.1 The proposed bill, titled the "Re-Imagine Safety Act," was developed in collaboration with community organizations and local representatives with the broader goal of restructuring the Department of Homeland Security.1
