Early observations from the initiative show that while most forest canopies remain predominantly green, yellow and orange foliage has already begun appearing in Wollaton Forest, Hamsterley Forest, and Dillam Forest 1. This year's exceptionally hot and dry summer has caused some trees to shed their leaves earlier than normal 1.
