The second edition of Tsinghua University's "Innovation Cup" entrepreneurship competition concluded its final round in Shenzhen, bringing together 40 startup teams for a decisive pitch competition.1 Jointly organized by Tsinghua University's Shenzhen International Graduate School and School of Economics and Management, the event featured two separate showcase tracks—one for early-stage startups and another for growth-stage ventures—spanning sectors including artificial intelligence, embodied AI, intelligent manufacturing, new energy, new materials, and biomedical technology.1
The participating teams represented a diverse academic coalition, drawing entrepreneurs from Tsinghua University, Peking University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Southern University of Science and Technology, University of Hong Kong, and Chinese University of Hong Kong, among others.1 Notably, 75 percent of all projects were led by individuals with master's or doctoral credentials.1 The competition attracted 268 team registrations across its recruitment phase beginning in April, with project leaders originating from 101 different universities.1 A total of 86 projects advanced to the innovation training camp before the final 40 teams qualified for the championship round.1
In the early-stage category, the top prize went to the "globally leading elastic fabric PCB" project, while Shouyiwuli Technology's "embodied AI data collection infrastructure" project secured first place in the growth-stage division.1 Multiple investment institutions including Lihe Venture Capital, Angel Mother Fund, Qianhai Ark Capital, Shenzhen Inno Angel Fund, Tongchuang Weiye, and Songhe Capital signed partnership agreements with winning projects on-site.1
