A 33-year-old man surnamed Lin has been administratively detained and fined after fabricating and spreading false claims on social media regarding alleged mistreatment of employees at Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL)'s Yibin facility.1
According to police investigation, Lin deliberately created a false narrative claiming that a manager at the enterprise's Yibin base had humiliated an employee, resulting in psychological breakdown and extreme behavior.1 However, authorities confirmed that neither the enterprise involved nor the location described in the rumor matched actual facts.1 Lin's actions, carried out to attract attention and cultivate a persona as someone with insider industry knowledge, violated public order by intentionally fabricating false information.1
