丁以群从医33年，主刀超一万台小儿心脏手术1。他主导下的科室实现了显著的学科建设成效，深圳小儿心脏外科手术量从2015年的405例增长至2017年的603例，2019年突破700例1。科室收治的新生儿手术占比从最高的18.18%提升至目前的22%，其中五公斤以下低体重患儿占比达到40%1。
在学术领域，丁以群连续四届登上美国胸心外科年会进行学术分享1，并于2023年当选美国胸心外科医学会（AATS）会员1。此外，自2018年起的8年间，他七次远赴西藏察隅开展公益救治工作，累计筛查5508人次1，组织54名患儿接受手术并全部成功1，同时资助174名患儿共214万元1。

Beyond his clinical achievements, Ding has presented at the American Association for Thoracic Surgery annual meeting for four consecutive years and became an AATS member in 2023 1. Since 2018, he has made eight humanitarian trips to Chayu County in Tibet over eight years, screening 5,508 patients, performing surgeries on 54 children with a 100 percent success rate, and providing financial assistance totaling 2.14 million yuan to 174 pediatric patients 1.
