Apple has updated its system requirements documentation for Apple Intelligence features, raising the storage space needed for certain premium devices.1 The required storage capacity for iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone Air, as well as iPads with M4 or later chips equipped with at least 12GB of unified memory, Macs with M3 or later chips with at least 12GB of unified memory, and Apple Vision Pro with M5 has been increased from 8GB to 14GB.1
The change was reflected in Apple's support documentation updated on September 16, 2024.1 These devices must run iOS 18.1 or later, iPadOS 18.1 or later, macOS Sequoia 15.1 or later, visionOS 2.4 or later, or watchOS 11 or later to access the Apple Intelligence capabilities with the new storage specifications.1
