Wuhan Tianhe Airport customs confiscated 6.78 kilograms of unregistered weight-loss pills labeled as self-made products from a Korean hospital. 1 At Jinan Yaoqiang Airport, authorities recovered 2,400 pills of similar unauthorized medications. 1 So far this year, Jinan airport customs has accumulated confiscations exceeding 5,000 pills of illegally imported weight-loss drugs. 1 In Shenzhen, customs uncovered weight-loss injection products at two separate border checkpoints: 225 units seized from four travelers at Luohu Port, and 643 units discovered in a vehicle's trunk at Huangjing Port. 1
Authorities have issued warnings to consumers against purchasing such products through unofficial channels. 1 Weight-loss injections are classified as Class III medical devices and are prohibited from importation without proper medical device registration certificates. 1 The methamphetamine component in these drugs makes them particularly dangerous due to their addictive nature and potential for causing permanent organ damage. 1
