The company plans to deploy the capital toward expanding its existing data center portfolio and scaling production of Spark, a modular, truck-transportable AI infrastructure unit1. Crusoe's current projects include a major facility in Abilene, Texas, designated for OpenAI's use1. The funding announcement comes approximately ten months after Crusoe raised $1.38 billion at a $10 billion valuation in October 20241.
Crusoe has also strengthened its leadership structure by adding three new board members: Thomas Seifert, Chief Financial Officer of Cloudflare; Bill Stein, Partner and Chief Investment Officer at Primary Digital Infrastructure; and JB Straubel, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Redwood Materials1. Additionally, the company has secured a five-year cloud computing contract worth $13 billion with Jane Street1. Crusoe, founded in 2018, serves major technology clients including Meta, Microsoft, and Oracle1.
