Ivan Jennings, a 46-year-old from Stafford, has been convicted of encouraging terrorism and inciting violence against religious and ethnic minorities through online communications.1 Between August and November 2024, Jennings actively participated in at least seven far-right Telegram groups, where he promoted extremist ideology and discussed methods of harming vulnerable populations.1 Specifically, he engaged in conversations about poisoning Jewish and Muslim individuals and called for the killing of migrants and ethnic minorities.1
During this period, Jennings distributed terrorist propaganda, including a manifesto by Norwegian mass murderer Anders Breivik on August 21, 2024.1 He also referenced the Christchurch terror attack, in which 51 people were killed.1 In his online communications, Jennings stated that violence against certain groups was "justified, and in fact necessary," characterizing his intended targets as "subhuman."1 He had joined the Patriotic Alternative organization in early 2024 before escalating his extremist activities.1
Leicester Crown Court sentenced Jennings to five years and three months in prison, with an additional five years of suspended sentence to follow upon release.1
