The collapse reflects a broader housing crisis in Gaza, where approximately 400 buildings face imminent collapse risk, a concern that will intensify as winter approaches.24 Around 2,000 damaged structures continue to house Palestinian families.24 Since a ceasefire agreement took effect in October 2025, more than 1,300 Palestinians, primarily civilians, have been killed in Gaza.24 Israel reports the loss of four soldiers during the same period.2
