Airbus has delivered its first aircraft from the second A320 family assembly line located in Tianjin, China, on September 16 1. The A320neo aircraft was received and will be operated by China Eastern Airlines 1. This second production line represents a significant expansion of the aircraft manufacturer's capacity in the region, as the first assembly line in Tianjin has delivered over 800 A320 family aircraft since beginning operations in 2008 1.
The addition of this second assembly line is instrumental in Airbus's efforts to increase global production capacity to 75 aircraft per month 1. Globally, Airbus now operates 10 A320 family assembly lines across multiple locations: four in Hamburg, Germany; two in Toulouse, France; two in Mobile, United States; and two in Tianjin, China 1.
