英国民众普遍认为种族平等状况在恶化

英国智库British Future发布的三年研究报告显示，英国各族群民众普遍认为种族平等状况在恶化1。近半的少数族裔英国人在过去一年遭遇过种族或国籍歧视1，其中18至24岁人群比例最高1。

A three-year research report released by the think tank British Future reveals that people across Britain's ethnic communities increasingly believe racial equality is deteriorating 1. Nearly half of ethnic minority respondents experienced racial or nationality discrimination in the past year, with the highest proportion among those aged 18 to 24 1. The study, conducted through an online survey of 2,009 white adults and 3,014 ethnic minority adults between March 30 and April 29, found that 62 percent of ethnic minority British people and 57 percent of white respondents view racial inequality as a serious problem 1.

However, significant divergence emerges in perceptions of whether ethnic minorities receive preferential treatment 1. While 37 percent of white respondents believe minorities are favored and 33 percent disagree, ethnic minorities themselves show contrasting views, with 23 percent agreeing they receive special treatment and 48 percent disagreeing 1. Sunder Katwala, director of British Future, observed that "most British ethnic minorities believe they have witnessed positive change against racial discrimination, but now worry that progress is being reversed" 1.

The think tank recommends that the government challenge "zero-sum thinking" on race, support grassroots initiatives, and encourage the media regulator Ofcom to strengthen enforcement against online racial discrimination 1.
