These organizations had operated without legal registration and falsely presented themselves as legitimate social groups, mimicking the names and organizational structures of authorized entities to deceive the public 1.

The Ministry of Civil Affairs stressed the necessity of firmly cracking down on such illegal organizations 1. The ministry also called on the public to verify the legitimacy of social organizations through the "China Social Organizations Government Service Platform" and to promptly report any violations to relevant authorities 1. This enforcement effort aligns with a joint notice issued in March 2021 by 22 central government departments, including the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, the Central Organization Department, and the Ministry of Civil Affairs, aimed at eliminating the breeding ground for illegal social organizations and purifying the ecosystem of civil society 1.
