Over the next three days, the southern portions of South China and nearby sea areas are forecast to receive substantial rainfall.1 From September 14 to 15, parts of southern coastal Guangxi, southern Hainan Island, and adjacent regions are expected to experience torrential to extreme rainfall, with accumulated precipitation of 100 to 200 millimeters.1 From September 15 to 16, scattered areas in southwestern Guangxi and the eastern Sichuan Basin will face similar severe rainfall conditions, with precipitation amounts of 100 to 150 millimeters.1 Additionally, southern coastal Hainan and western coastal Guangdong experienced gale-force winds of 7 to 9 on the Beaufort scale.1
The meteorological authority warns that the cumulative rainfall expected in Hainan presents a high risk of disaster-related secondary hazards from heavy rain, necessitating heightened vigilance against secondary disasters.1 Meanwhile, southwestern regions and Tibet are expected to experience persistent overcast and rainy conditions, with potential impacts on agriculture, transportation, and construction projects requiring close monitoring.1
