事件經曝光後引發廣泛關注，有媒體實測確認該廣告設計確實存在操作不便的問題1。榮耀官方隨後回應稱，當事人的發文「與事實不符」，並聲稱出於人道主義關懷「不予追究」1。就廣告功能本身，榮耀解釋投放廣告係為支付圖片版權及營運費用，目前暫未提供單獨關閉廣告的選項1。自2024年底起，已有多名用戶投訴無法卸載該功能1。
值得注意的是，該用戶後來與榮耀溝通後澄清稱「事件與榮耀手機無關」1。
A design flaw in Honor's X70 smartphone has sparked public controversy after a user in Jinan, Shandong province alleged that the device's full-screen advertisement triggered during unlock delayed his father's attempt to call emergency services for his mother, who suffered a heart attack and died.1
According to the user's account, his mother experienced sudden myocardial infarction in the early morning of August 30, 2024.1 When his father attempted to use the Honor X70 to dial the emergency number, a full-screen "Magic Gallery" advertisement appeared, which the user claimed had an exit button so difficult to locate that "even young people struggle to find it for a long time."1
The user later clarified with Honor that the incident was unrelated to the phone.1
Honor responded by asserting that the user's post was "inconsistent with facts" and stated it would not pursue the matter "out of humanitarian concern."1 The company explained that the advertisement was placed to fund image copyright payments and operational costs, and noted that it had not yet offered an option to disable the ad feature separately.1 Multiple users have complained since late 2024 that they cannot uninstall this function.1
