A 47-year-old Afghan woman has been deported from the United States in the first case ever heard by the "alien terrorist removal court," a specialized tribunal established in 1996.1 Nazira Haji Zada, a permanent resident from Fort Worth, Texas, was accused of being the "matriarch" of a family-based terrorist organization, though she was never charged with a crime herself.1 Her son, Abdullah Haji Zada, and son-in-law, Nasir Ahmad Tauhed, were previously convicted of plotting a mass shooting on Election Day 2024 inspired by the Islamic State.1
