Four regional authorities launched a joint initiative on September 12 to establish a space computing industry corridor spanning the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, announced at the 2026 China Computing Power Conference held in Langfang, Hebei Province 1. Beijing will serve as the "source of star rockets and computing power reaching space," leveraging its position as the nation's core hub for commercial aerospace rocket and satellite manufacturing 1. Tianjin, positioning itself as "supercomputing foundation and intelligent convergence," will build on the capabilities of the National Supercomputing Center Tianjin and its "Tianhe" series infrastructure 1. Xiong'an New Area will function as the "star network navigator with integrated network and computing," drawing on China Star Network's headquarters location there 1. Langfang will act as the "millisecond connector for heaven-earth coordination," utilizing its advantage as a computing hub around Beijing with millisecond-level connectivity 1.
The initiative commits the four regions to accelerating breakthroughs in core space computing technologies, establishing the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Space Computing Industry Alliance, and fostering a complete industrial chain 1.
