The China Meteorological Administration released a weather forecast warning of significant rainfall across multiple regions.1 Hainan Island, Yunnan, and Tibet experienced intense precipitation in recent days, with localized rainstorms and severe downpours recorded in areas including Wanning and Lingshui in Hainan, where rainfall reached 100 to 173.8 millimeters.1
Over the next three days, affected areas will see heavy to torrential rains. From September 12-13, the southeastern portion of Hainan Island is expected to experience localized severe downpours of 100 to 130 millimeters.1 From September 13-14, the eastern and southern sections will see heavy to severe rain with localized severe downpours of 100 to 160 millimeters.1 From September 14-15, southern areas are forecast to receive 100 to 170 millimeters of precipitation.1 Influenced by a tropical low-pressure system, heavy to torrential rains are also expected for the Guangdong coast and Guangxi coast, while the southwest region will experience prolonged cloudy and rainy conditions.1
