Google has announced a record-breaking investment of 13 billion euros in Finland to develop artificial intelligence infrastructure, marking a significant expansion of the tech giant's data center operations in Northern Europe 1. The investment encompasses the construction of three new data centers in Kajaani, Muhos, and Vaala, as well as the expansion of an existing facility in Hamina that has operated since 2009 1.

Central to this infrastructure development is a 22-year electricity purchase agreement with Finnish power company Fortum, under which Google will acquire 50 percent of the output from the Loviisa nuclear power plant 1.
