Britain's Trades Union Congress general secretary Paul Nowak has launched a critique of the government's migration policies. 1 The reforms would require more than 300,000 low-wage workers to wait 15 years before obtaining permanent residency rights. 1 Nowak stated that this represents an unfair change, saying: "I think it is fundamentally unfair to change the rules when people came to this country with one set of expectations." 1
