An Australian man has been convicted and imprisoned for exploiting Tesla's remote control features to harass and intimidate his ex-partner over an extended period. Enrico Pucci used the vehicle's app functionality to manipulate a woman's car as part of a four-year pattern of domestic abuse.1
In November 2025, Pucci added a "parental control" profile to the woman's Tesla without her knowledge or authorization, granting him remote access to the vehicle.1 Beginning on November 6, 2025, and continuing through November 12, 2025, he repeatedly altered the car's temperature settings and activated "Valet Mode," which restricted the vehicle's speed to 40 kilometers per hour.1 Pucci sent menacing communications to his ex-partner, stating: "You think you can escape. I'm in your car. I'm in your maps."1
The defendant faced 30 charges related to the domestic abuse case, including eight counts of intimidation and harassment, six counts of common assault, two counts of unlawful strangulation, and one count of threatening to kill.1 Judge Peter Feather determined that Pucci's conduct demonstrated a clear pattern of coercion and control spanning four years.1 He was sentenced to two years and three months imprisonment, with a non-parole period of 15 months.1 Pucci has since filed an appeal and is scheduled to return to court in late October.1
Prior legal matters have also marked Pucci's record. In 2017, his cleaning company was found by a federal court to have exploited migrant workers and was fined approximately 450,000 Australian dollars.1 In 2022, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission banned him from holding company director positions for up to five years.1
