The Transportation Security Administration has launched a new program called "Gateside by TSA PreCheck" that permits certain travelers without boarding passes to pass through airport security checkpoints 1. This initiative marks the first time since the September 11 terrorist attacks nearly 25 years ago that US airports have allowed non-ticketed individuals into secure areas 1.
To participate, travelers must be enrolled in the TSA PreCheck program or belong to other trusted traveler programs with a Known Traveler Number 1. Participants seeking access must apply online one to three days before their visit and receive prior approval 1. Once granted, a pass remains valid for one calendar day and allows multiple entries and exits during that period 1.
