党派分化在政府信息信任度上愈发明显1。民主党人对联邦预算信息的不信任度为61%，而共和党人为42%；在犯罪信息方面，60%的民主党人不信任政府信息，相比之下共和党人仅为32%1。特别值得注意的是，民主党人对政府选举认证结果的高度信任率从2024年的65%大幅下跌至44%1。此外，仅约十分之一的美国成年人认为民主党或共和党竞选信息"总是"或"经常"基于事实1。

Americans' confidence in federal government information is eroding, according to a new poll that documents widespread skepticism on multiple fronts. Only 34% of American adults express substantial trust in the government's certification of election results, down from 40% in 2024.1 Trust in government communications has fallen particularly sharply among Democrats regarding election security, with 44% of Democratic respondents now expressing high confidence in election certification, compared to 65% the previous year.1

The erosion of confidence extends beyond elections to encompassing multiple policy domains. Approximately 60% of American adults report low trust in government information concerning the environment, foreign policy, election politics, abortion, and immigration.1 Distrust regarding education has surged notably, climbing from 37% in 2019 to 53% currently, representing a 9 percentage point increase over the past year.1 The partisan divide has widened substantially, with 61% of Democrats distrusting federal budget information compared to 42% of Republicans, and 60% of Democrats expressing low confidence in crime-related government information versus 32% of Republicans.1

The poll also reveals fundamental skepticism about the factual basis of campaign messaging across both parties. Only approximately one in ten American adults believes that either Democratic or Republican campaign information is "always" or "frequently" grounded in fact.1 The AP-NORC/USA Facts survey gathered responses from 1,036 adults between July 29 and August 10, with a sampling margin of error of plus or minus 4.1 percentage points.1
