Shenzhen University of Technology's racing studio concluded an ambitious summer campaign in 2026 by competing in two major events across different continents. In August, the team fielded entries at both the national Baha Rally in Zhejiang's Tongxiang and the Formula Student competition in Barcelona, Spain, delivering notable results at each venue.
At the Baha Rally held from August 26 to 30,1 the university deployed two newly developed vehicles—Hurricane-26, a gasoline-powered Baha racer, and FLASH-26, an electric Baha racer—to compete against 122 teams from 86 institutions and more than 2,500 student participants.1 The Hurricane-26 team secured the national third prize in the fuel-powered undergraduate category, while the FLASH-26 team claimed the national first prize.1 The U10 gasoline team achieved ninth place in design report, fifth in commercial marketing, and won the sole "Competitiveness Analysis Award" in the fuel-powered undergraduate category.1 The E03 electric team earned third place in design report, second in business marketing, and second in vehicle handling.1
The Aurora electric racing team traveled to Barcelona for the Formula Student competition held locally from August 1 to 7,1 where 59 teams from 18 countries participated.1 Aurora completed the race with a tenth-place finish in the electric vehicle category,1 becoming the first Chinese mainland university electric formula team since 2019 to fully participate in all European division events and successfully pass the complete technical inspection protocol.1 The team's second driver in acceleration trials achieved a sixth-place position with a time of 3.489 seconds.1
