Australia's Independent Commission Against Corruption is investigating allegations that three Liberal Party operatives—Jeremy Greenwood, Charles Perrottet, and Christian Ellis—received AUD 2 million in bribes between 2020 and 2023 from fugitive real estate developer Jean Nassif in exchange for political favors.1
At a hearing on Wednesday, Greenwood denied fabricating a pink paper note that he claimed was the only written record documenting an agreement with Nassif.1 According to Greenwood's account, the arrangement was worth up to AUD 5 million and included conditions whereby each of five Toplace projects would receive AUD 1 million.1 The operative also disclosed that he had paid AUD 30,000 to Toplace executive Sharangan Maheshwaran.1
