The U.S. Transportation Security Administration has launched a new program called "Gateside by TSA PreCheck" that permits eligible TSA PreCheck members to pass through airport security and access gate areas without a plane ticket, marking the first time such access has been restored nearly 25 years after the September 11 attacks 1. The initiative is currently operating on a trial basis at 13 airports, including Los Angeles International, Dallas-Fort Worth International, Harry Reid International in Las Vegas, and Salt Lake City International 1.
Participants in the program must submit an online application one to three days in advance and receive approval before visiting the gate area 1.
