On September 8th, the Longcheng Public Health Service Center in Longgang District, Shenzhen launched the inaugural event of its "AIDS Prevention on Campus" series at a local university.1 The center employed innovative approaches to engage students, including a three-minute hand gesture dance flash mob, an interactive health fair, and online quizzes designed to educate participants about HIV transmission routes, post-exposure prophylaxis, and correct condom use.1
The campaign addressed critical knowledge gaps among students, with particular emphasis on the HIV window period, the 72-hour window for post-exposure preventive medication, and the proper use of protection methods.1 The event also included concurrent education on monkeypox prevention, correcting common misconceptions among the student population.1 To extend the reach of these educational efforts, the Longcheng Public Health Service Center has assembled a volunteer team of 50 members trained in peer-to-peer HIV prevention education.1
The center plans to continue this initiative by organizing activities at multiple campuses throughout the district, coordinating with key periods such as the new student admission season and World AIDS Day.1 The peer-to-peer model aims to amplify impact through an "one person engaging ten people" approach to health communication.1
