The threat escalates tensions in the US-Canada trade dispute, which intensified after trade negotiations collapsed on August 21.3 Canada is implementing retaliatory tariffs of up to 50 percent on approximately $20 billion worth of American goods, including steel, aluminum, and dairy products.12

In response to these developments, Bombardier emphasized its substantial American presence: the company employs 3,500 workers in the United States, with a military aircraft factory in Kansas, and operates facilities valued at over $5.1 billion.1 Additionally, Bombardier sources parts from approximately 2,800 American companies across 47 states and spends more than $2.5 billion annually on American suppliers.23 The company's business jets have wings manufactured in Texas and flight control components produced near Los Angeles.3 Approximately 5,100 Bombardier aircraft—roughly half its fleet—are operated by American customers.1
